Do LEDs require the same transformer or power supply as low voltage incandescent lighting?

Let us know!

The short answer is "no," because LEDs are current driven devices and low voltage incandescent lights are voltage driven devices.

In order for LEDs to be driven by a transformer (AC voltage) or power supply (DC voltage), the fixture has to include additional integral components to ballast the drive current through the LED.
